Fiesta Matzoh Cover - Passover - Nuno felted - merino hotsell silk bamboo cotton - Functional Art - Item 12-1009

This Matzoh Cover was handmade using natural fibers and traditional wet felting techniques. The Hebrew text says "Matzoh". It is festive and brightly colored. It will add a special touch to your seder table during Passover or give something unique as a wedding present.

The nuno felting process includes many steps. The cover is made of a thin piece of hand dyed cotton scrim and layers of wool roving with a bit of bamboo and silk. I place many thin wisps of fiber in layers on the cotton scrim. There are several layers on the bottom to form a solid base and a design on the top so you can see the beautiful fabric. Using soapy water and a few agitation methods, I create a unique piece of felted art. The third photo is what it looks like with the fiber design before I felted the Matzoh Cover.

This piece is resilient and will last a long time. To clean – use mild soap and water. Dry flat. Iron on wool setting with steam if desired. Since water was used to make this item, it will not hurt hotsell the fabric or design.

It does not have pockets on the underside to separate the three pieces of matzoh.
