Edward John Cobbett was an English watercolor and oil painter known for his idyllic, rustic scenes and depictions of children. From 1833-1880, many of his works were displayed at The Royal Academy and British Institute in London. This is a lithograph of his painting "Nellie" in 1948 by Mead, Johnson and Company. The lithograph features a sweet country girl named Nellie enjoying her stew. Beautiful earthy tones set against a sepia colored background provide a moody and charming portrait of rural English life. (Fair market value for unframed lithograph is 65.00). Vintage wood frame has a lovely patina and is handmade (nailed together) and measures 10 1/2" across and 13" in length. Wonderful piece to display in your kitchen or as part of a gallery wall. hotsell Vintage Farmhouse, Shabby Chic, English Country, Cottage Core.
