Pollyanna, hotsell #474, HTF, NRFB, Madame Alexander, 8" Vintage Doll, Storyland, Box, Wrist Tag, Paperwork
Pollyanna, #474, HTF, NRFB, Madame Alexander, 8" Vintage Doll, Storyland, Box, Wrist Tag, Paperwork is circa 1992 and has good condition original box with nice overall finish and shape, clear label, nice flat lid top. Photos are of sold doll and current doll is near identical as even close scrutiny reveals no variations other than the bangs waves are unique to each doll. Current doll compares favorably in every regard. This current doll was still stapled into her neck brace, so it is certain she was never displayed. I released her to inspect the back and always take staples out of these older boxes with appropriate staple remover, to assist new owner in avoiding tearing or difficulty. Restringing was not needed due to proper care/storage. It is nice and tight. (NOTE: Doll descriptive details in 2nd paragraph). Her hair retains the original braids and wavy bangs. Eyes open easily manually. Her hat, shoes and shoe soles, ribbons and buttons are all as new. Garments and undergarments, as well as elastic, are exemplary. I do have the newer version of this doll in linen dress, please inquire. Please study the photos to confirm description. SHIPPING OVERAGE may apply, depending on destination. Only actual shipping label cost is charged.
Here is sweet Pollyanna with her violet eyes, the main character in Eleanor H. Porter's 1913 Novel of the same name. Pollyanna is a study in optimism, always seeing the good and the brighter side in all circumstances. Madame Alexander has dressed Pollyanna in pink Victorian period sailor-theme dress with nautical collar so popular in the era. Her white straw hat with back pink satin bow with streamers has a sheen to it which sets off the pearl bodice buttons. She wears pink satin braid ribbons, has a pink satin bow on her bodice and wears pink satin slip on shoes. Her pink chemise waist dress is lace trimmed at sleeve ends and is bi-layered at the bottom. The second layer peeks out below the first, and is edged in a semi-sheer scalloped floral embroidered trim band which is repeated at the v of her neckline. The overall image is soft and sweet, truly so feminine!
MY MISSION: I provide a doll for you that is fully ready for display on arrival at your home, beautiful and sturdy. Any flaws I detect which I could not remedy will be documented in the listing and doll priced accordingly. I keep extensive computer files on each hotsell listing with doll and box images.)The boxes, being the original homes for the dolls, are in variable condition, dependent on the original owner's care and storage. I will always mention box condition with the listing, or sleep eyes that open manually.
MY PROCESS: I remove from the box to re-style the hair and inspect/correct for anything that might be remiss. I feel this step is more important than listing "never removed from box." My patrons will know there will be no loose snaps , no tangled locks, damaged apron strings, no fragile, weakened rubber bands,( I re-string when needed) no stained or faded clothing or problems with undergarments, no necklaces trapped in the neck or tresses. I restring with elastic cord, the preferred archival choice of "doll doctors."
MY PRICES: I calculate on: How readily available (or, conversely, hard to find,) whether complete with all accessories, my costs, my labor, condition of restored doll returned to box after completing the work. To include a doll stand with your order, please add $1.00 to your total.
