with further development of crystals, those of them that are directed obliquely to the substrate collide with neighboring crystals and stop growing. Then the free space is filled with crystals that are perpendicular to the substrate. Thus, the growing amethyst takes on an ordered structure, which is called a crystal brush;
clusters of amethyst crystals can grow inside closed cavities, forming secretions (large ones are called geodes, small ones are called tonsils).
