Fine silver Persian blue enameled pendant, in "champlevé" technique, handmade, oval shape.

I made this pendant with fine silver clay FS999, the bottom with a texture and the top with openings to hold the glass enamel. The two are joined together, sanded and refined.
After making and firing the piece at 1650F for 2 hours+, I put it in the tumbler to polish and work harden it. A day later, I prepared my enamel by sifting and adding distilled water, mixing and emptying the dirty water called '"fines" to be left with clean, transparent enamel.
The front was "wet packed" with the same transparent enamels filling in the design, and firing at 1400F for about 2 minutes for every coat (4-5 coats)

The piece was wet stone sanded to smooth out the enamels and I then filed and polished to achieve a beautiful shiny silver finish. (this takes a long time!)

This pendant took me at least two/three hotsell days to make and ready to photograph. It's one of a kind and totally handmade!
