This is an original, hand-painted design on silk fabric. The silk is then wrapped around a canvas or foamboard for display. The silkpainting process can be very complex, and requires a careful layering of dyes and resist to create the image. The silk itself glows quite strikingly, especially in soft light or sunlight. This makes the colours especially vivid and rich.
ALL SILKPAINTINGS ARE COMPLETELY UNIQUE. There is no way to exactly reproduce a silkpainting. Even using the same outlines and colours will always result in a different appearance.
This silkpainting features abstract hills rising in colour through a landscape, equally abstract. The muted greens are punctuated by brighter oranges, yellows, and blues.
Dimensions: 15.5''x15.5'', wrapped around a 3/4'' canvas. It also has mounting hardware pre-installed into the frame.
If desired, it is possible to install the canvas into a frame; however, it is hotsell more complicated to pull the silk fabric off of the canvas in order to re-mount the silk itself, so I do not recommend you try to do this yourself. Since this item is pre-framed and the silk is very delicate, packing and shipping is done very carefully to ensure proper treatment of the silk.
Note: do not hang in direct sunlight. The dye will slowly fade upon prolonged UV exposure.
