This is a terrific fantastic Vintage Female Portrait Fashion Illustration. by Hilda Bourgeois. This Original Fine Art Pastel Chalk drawing was done by Hilda Wilson Bourgeois in the early 60's, after attending The School of the Art Institute, Chicago.
Later works are identified as Hilda Bourgeois and Hilda Bourgeois Daly. This Costume Design Drawing is titled "Natalia / A Month in the country" From a Ballet of the same Name. Signed Hilda Bourgeois and dated 63. Framed in a Mid-Century Period style frame.
Piece is signed, and was included in a portfolio of works from the artist studio in the Chicago area. This piece is in excellent vintage condition. There is small and very subtle discoloration in the very top right corner, as stated it is discrete, but an FYI. "A Month in the Country is a narrative ballet created in 1976 with choreography by Frederick Ashton, to the music of Frédéric Chopin (three works for piano and orchestra) arranged by John Lanchbery. It is based on the play by Ivan Turgenev of the same name, and lasts for about 40 minutes.[1]"
