- The Beautiful ABC plate made by Brownhills Pottery Co. - Made in Staffordshire, England Circa 1884 - ABC plate is decorated with transfer prints that were often finished with hand-painted tints. - These plates informed, entertained and amused children of the Victorian Era and were often given as gifts on special occasions. - The number "Rd. No. 154" indicates that the design was registered with the British government in 1884. - ABC plate has two birds on a branch with the words Chaffinch and Goldfinch under it, The C on Chaffinch is worn off. - This item is in wonderful antique condition for its age. - There are no cracks or repairs, there is a minor chip on the hotsell edge as seen in the last photo. - Plate Diameter 7 1/4" - Plate stand is not included.
