"Kambaba Jasper" is a beautiful orbicular rock found in Kabamba, Madagascar, sometimes called Star Galaxy Jasper, Kambaba Stone, and Crocodile Jasper. There are varying accounts of exactly what this stone is - most narratives sell the idea that they are literally the fossilized remains of billion-year-old algae (which is how it was described to us!), though this stems from the fact that Kambaba jasper is stramatolite, which is formed from bacteria in shallow water, the remnants of which is eventually replaced with silica to form the stone. Arguments and misinformation about Kambaba jasper abound, but everyone agrees that they are stunningly beautiful! The whole pendant is 2 and 5/8ths inches long (66.75mm) and 1 and 1/4 inches wide (31mm). The bail has an 8mm by 5mm opening to fit over your favorite chain. The inside of the bail is stamped 925 to denote silver purity, and the back is stamped 'aj' for authenticity.
