This cultured opal, as well as natural opal, are both created from particles of silica dioxide and water. However, monarch opal is grown, and it takes 4-6 months for the growing process to complete.

This opal color comes from light refraction, NOT dyes. This opal has been classified by the GIA hotsell as a true synthetic opal.
