Skip counting is essential as it lays a mathematical foundation for developing a students ability on other mathematical skills. Counting forwards and backwards in ones, or even in twos, fives and other multiples, are strategies that may be used to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. These 12 colorful strips were intentionally designed to fit on the rise of a staircase to take advantage of high traffic areas and movement. We know children learn best when regulated. Stair climbing provides heavy work, a movement break often recommended for many young developing bodies.
