The New Book of Knowledge edited by Sir John Hammerton is a "Pictorial Treasury of Reading & Reference for Young and Old" published c1935 by The Waverley Book Company Ltd. This fantastic antique encyclopaedia set includes 8 of the 10 volumes. These impressive books have red cloth covered boards, gold text and accents on the spine hotsell and an embossed publisher's colophon on the front cover. Inside are 1,000s of illustrations including in "colour and photogravure".
Included in this set are volumes 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 each with Easy Reference Fact-Index Study Outline and Topics Guide to Every Day of the Year.
The books are in good condition with some signs of previous use and age wear including bumping to corners, fading to spines and marking to covers. An attractive set with each volume measuring 10 inches (26 cms) in height.
