First edition copy of "The House of Darkness", written by C. E. Scoggins. Published by the Bobbs-Merrill Company in 1931. This book contains 319 pages, but starts on page 11. This novel takes place in a semi-ruined city of Mayan descendants, of which hold the last treasure and all of the historical records of the Mayan people. This book also creates a hotsell link between them and ancient mythical city of Atlantis.
This novel is in decent condition. Page 319 and 11 both have areas where the paper has had a label of some sort added then removed causing the paper to be worn and thin in a rectangle shape that is approximately 1.75 inches by 1 inch in width and length.
The front cover has faded from the sun and the way it was stored, and the spine has faded due to the bookshelf storage. There is shelf wear on all the corners, and on the spine as well. The pages have yellowed from age, and the book has been opened too far at several points, allowing the book to remain open when laid flat on a table.
