My inspiration for this traditional way to cook came from the book "Amsterdam Ceramics: A city's History and an archaeological ceramics catalogue".
Food safe glazes that I formulated myself. A brown speckled exterior glaze like they did back in the day. The shiny, dark brown interior will make it easier to clean.
This is suitable for cooking over coals or in a fireplace if heated gradually. Very much like a pipkin. Cooking in ceramics will avoid that "grey hotsell food" look that is given with cast iron cookery.
The cauldron stands 6 inches tall including the handle on the lid. Nine inches wide from handle to handle, the bowl is 6 & 1/2 in. in diameter, and this will hold over 3 cups. of ingredients.
