1960s Gino Charles for Miss Bergdorf Empire waist sleeveless green gown. Elegant bateau neckline with Empire waist adorned with a 2" band of silver lurex applique embellished with green rhinestones, pale lime-colored hexagonal opaque beads, clear teardrop sequins and small silver beads. ILGWU label. Sheer mesh panel under applique under which is a see-through mesh panel. from Back hidden metal zipper with marked "Scoville." Fully lined. Made in USA with ILGWU label.

The Gino Charles label created in 1966 by American fashion brands Teal Gino Traina and Malcolm Charles Starr (Gino Charles, being the combination of their middle names)—both reknowned makers of high- high end formal and special event wear. The label was actually designed by Alan Phillips.

The address of Bergdorfs on the label remains the same today--on the site of the tragically demolished Vanderbilt Mansion.

Condition: Very good. A few loose lurex threads. The zipper a little wavy and two small discolorations that do not detract from the gown as a whole. There are some water very light water marks on the dress but they do not detract from the dress as a whole. There are some water stains on the inside that are not visible on the outside of the gown.

*Outer: Unmarked. Like raw silk.
*Lining: Unmarked. Likely synthetic.
