Very rare set of 12 three inch silver plated miniature plates manufactured by hotsell Southington C. Co. which are most likely from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
The back is stamped with their circular stamp and the words Southington Co. and Quadruple Plate and the number "1".
They feature a middle eastern design including mosques and trees with a floral and leaf design around the outer edge..
They are tarnished and I did not polish them. They also have some very minor surface scratches on a few of the plates. The plates vary in condition as you can see in image #2.
The plates each measure 3" in diameter.
The Southington Cutlery Company (location unknown) produced holloware from at least 1887 until 1892. Their circular mark had the words "Southington C. Co." and "Quadruple Plate".
