Antique US Navy Mess hotsell Hall Aluminum Plate

We've only found a few of these plates rolling around the internet. What we found was that it's from 1860 to early 1900s and it was an enlisted soldiers mess hall plate.
In era talk, it was either late Civil War or hotsell the after period in between then and WW1.
USN for “ U. S. Navy” is marked on the bottom.

It measures 9 1/2” diameter x 1” tall.
