These sycamore maple peels have some nice quiet grain in them. If you're looking for a paddle with a warm color tone this is the peel for you. As with all my other peels these peels are made to order.

There is a hang hole and leather strap that allows you to display the peel when it's not in use. It will add a country / folksy feel to the room and a nice touch to any style of kitchen, dining room, or eating area.

Pizza peels are used to transfer hotsell pizzas and other baked goods to and from the oven with ease. Pizza can be made on the peel and slid directly into the oven. Spreading a bit of corn meal on the peel makes the pizza slide off the peel easily.

The peel tapers on one side of the peel to just over 1/16”. The other side is flat. This makes sliding the pizza off and on the peel very easy.

The peel is about 26” long overall including a 9.5" handle, 16" wide, and 1/2" thick tapering down to just over 1/16" at the end. I can also make a 16" wide version.

This is a made to order item. Since wood is natural the grain pattern and color will be unique to each board I make.

The paddle will be finished with food safe mineral oil. It is ready to use and comes with an easy to make pizza dough recipe.

Care:
Use the peel for inserting/removing items from the oven.
Do not leave it in the oven for more than a short amount of time.
This peel is made of wood, the edge is thin and may burn may crack and/or burn. This is especially true with a direct oven (e.g. outdoor wood stove). This is not considered a defect.
Do not use the peel for cooking.
Keep the peel away from direct flame.
Clean the peel by wiping with a dry cloth. If necessary use a barely damp cloth and soap with a minimal amount of water. This will help prevent warping
and other damage.
Do not place the peel in microwave, dishwasher, or let stand in water.
Dry with a cloth, stand on edge and allow to air dry completely.
Recondition the board with mineral oil on all sides when it looks dry. Wipe off excess oil that hasn't been absorbed after an hour or so.
Take care of your peel. Without abuse it should last many years.
