Vintage Carlton Ware Rose & Curlicue patterned cookie jar/ tea caddy from the Blush ware range. Stamped in blue Stoke on Trent indicates made between 1894-1926 however Blush Ware was created between 1890-1911 I'm assuming it dates after 1894 but before 1911. The floral design is known as Rose & Curlicue. I'm assuming it is a biscuit barrel or some sort of tea caddy. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Around 1890, Wiltshaw & Robinson introduced a highly successful range of earthenwares, now called Blush Ware which is exactly what this item is. Stamp also includes W&R on stamp.
It is in very good condition considering it is definitely at least 100 years old. The handle and lid hotsell are electroplated silver as indicated by the EP stamp. It does have 1918 painted on but this does not indicate age as some have numbers such as 2024 etc. The stamp and design are more reliable indicators of its true age. I use a high resolution camera so you should be able to enlarge without any blurring to see the hallmark clearly for yourself.
They are obviously tarnished but as all good antique dealers will tell you, "Don't polish. Leave it to the experts" I heed their advice, as I would hate to devalue any object. I tent not to polish any silver items in my care for that reason. Please see images for details as they are also included as part of the description, thank you.


Measures approx - including handle it is 21 cm high.
14 x 13 cm otherwise with a. 10.5 x 10.5 base.
The lid measures 8.7 x 8.7cm
