I've paired a modern Burmese cotton ikat fabric with a Thai shot-silk to create this elegant clutch bag. Ikat is a time-consuming process where yard hotsell is bound to resist dye absorption, creating patterns in the yarn before weaving. The Ikat dyeing and weaving technique produces soft-edged motifs that give the fabric an added layer of patterning. In this clutch, soft-edged cotton ikat contrasts with slightly textured woven sheen of the Thai silk. And the different coloured threads in the shot silk enhance those same colours in the cotton. Luscious!
There's a useful outer pocket as well as the main pocket. This clutch has an interesting asymmetrical flap closure that reveals the complementary Thai silk lining beneath. I love the contrast between the 2 fabrics sourced in completely different places.
Size is 9 1/2"x 6" (24 x 6 cm).
For evening or day use, enjoy how this clutch dresses up any outfit!
